Wow! What a valuable experience. Today watching Jen was eye opening and affirming to what I have been doing but also some great ideas for a way forward. You have to make the each session work for you and your kids. So if they need more time on one thing. That's ok. If they need to work on vocabulary. That's ok. If they need to write down questions as they read to help them form their questions and 'ink their thinking'. That's ok.

After our second meeting today I felt it was a great process to talk about our successes, a surprise (+ve / -ve) our tips to other teachers and challenges we are facing. It was good to hear other's experience so far and support them through the challenges.
My experience with R3 has been very positive and the children in my group love their R3 time. Going forward and from discussions today I have a new goal to help my students in the text analyst role of reading and infer meaning between the lines of texts.
